Health & Safety Audits

Most accidents happen when the pace is high and the rules are fuzzy. Wet floors in the cellar. A quick lift of a keg because the pump is down. A contractor cutting a hole without a permit.

Our audits turn policy into habits people can keep on a normal day. We spend time where the risks live, speak with the people who do the tasks, and leave managers with a plan that prevents the next incident rather than explaining the last one.

Turning health‑and‑safety policy into habits people can keep

Our audits turn policy into habits people can keep on a normal day.  We spend time where the risks live, speak with the people who do the tasks and leave managers with a plan that prevents the next incident, rather than just explaining the last one.

During the visit we test how risk assessments work in practice, watching how kegs and heavy boxes are moved, looking for burn and crush hazards, and checking slips, ladders and contractor permits.

Safety Compliance Audit

To assess compliance with your choice of food safety, health & safety, fire safety and brand standards in line with your policy and processes.
ENQUIRE

Policy Development

We design, agree and maintain your safety management systems (policies, SOPs and due‑diligence forms) that match how your sites actually run across food safety, health & safety, fire safety, allergen management and leisure.

Policy Implementation Support

Once your new policy library is ready, we spend time on site to tailor documents to each department and brief teams on how to use them. Our aim is to bed in the new system so that managers and staff use it correctly from day one.

Digitalising Safety Management Systems

We convert your paper‑based policies, risk assessments and SOPs into digital checks and forms, then upload them into your compliance platform (Digital Food Safety or other software) so records are fast, consistent and easy to access.

New Business Mobilisation Support Audit & Pre‑Management Audits

Taking on a new site can be daunting. We can carry out mobilisation audits shortly after handover to coach and support managers in ensuring everything is available and in place with regards to food and safety. A comprehensive action plan will act as a checklist to implementing robust management systems that stick.

If you're deciding whether to take on a new contract we can help in providing a pre-management audit that provides a gap analysis and highlights any key areas of non-compliance and red flags. This puts you in a good position from the start to know which areas need prioritising and help in your contractual and operational decision making.

Baxter Storey, Operations Manager

"The auditor was engaging and energetic and my teams got huge value from her audits, well beyond just checking off the audit criteria.

They have been left more aware of best practice for their locations and are now energised about raising their safety standards even further!"

Your auditor's professionalism, patience, and exceptional coaching skills truly made a significant impact on our team and the overall audit process."

What we focus on

Risks that show up every day

We start with your risk assessments, then test how they work in real life. In storage areas we watch how kegs, cylinders and heavy boxes are moved and stacked. In production or kitchen spaces we look for burn, cut and crush hazards and check that guarding and interlocks are working, not taped open.

On the floor we look at drainage, mats, cleaning methods and signage where slips happen most. In housekeeping and facilities we check how ladders and small access equipment are used, and how work at height is controlled in tight spaces. When contractors are on site we look at permits, isolation and supervision rather than taking anyone’s word for it.
Chemicals and COSHH

The right product, the right way

We open cupboards and check that chemical containers are labelled and that safety data sheets are nearby and understood. We watch how chemicals are diluted, stored and used.

We make sure incompatible products are kept apart and that staff know what to do if there is a splash or a spill.

Helen Davies
Searcys and WSH Restaurants,
Head of Safety

"Very impressed with your approach, the team really enjoyed your audits and feel very supported by you - in particular, the 'show me/tell me' approach that you use during audits to engage with the teams on site."

Neil Fuller
Caterlink, Managing Director

"The team found it enlightening and I'm sure it will be beneficial to remind them of the importance of our number one KPI - Health & Safety."

People, training and supervision

Who knows what, and who checks

We sample training records, then speak with new starters and supervisors to see what has actually landed. We ask people to show us how they do a task, not tell us how it should be done.

We review accident and near miss trends to spot patterns and quick wins. If responsibilities are blurred, we coach managers in resolution and safety culture.

Make inspections predictable

Independent audits, FRAs, policy and training from a team that includes former EHOs, shaped for busy hospitality
Insurer-friendly reports
Portfolio visibility
Fast, usable actions
How the audit runs

Walkthrough, conversations and practical fixes

We plan the visit around your operations so we see the real risks and avoid disruption to your service during peak times. We view all areas, check recent records, and talk with the people who do the work.

Before we leave we outline the top actions in plain English so there are no surprises in the report. Where a quick fix is obvious, we help you put it in place that day and capture the change in the action plan.

What you take away

A short, practical improvement plan

You receive a photo led report with priority led actions that close the biggest risks first. If it helps, we can return to confirm closures so momentum is not lost.
A comprehensive audit report covering physical hazards, processes and documentation
Practical recommendations, from installing non‑slip flooring to revising training schedules
Follow‑up support to verify improvements and close actions
Sector fit

The same principles, tailored to your world

In hospitality we focus on cellars, kitchens and late trading.

In retail we look at stockrooms, manual handling during deliveries and customer areas.

In healthcare we include food safety in ward kitchens, patient movement, sharps and infection control.

In offices we address display screen equipment, stress risks and contractors working around staff. The checks are tailored so the guidance lands with your teams and your schedule.
